During my travels in India 2020 I spent almost a month in Hampi, an ancient village in the south Indian state of Karnataka. On my first day I drove my motorbike on the main road towards the yellow sun that was setting in front of me when suddenly I saw on the left side of the road approximately 10 women knee deep in a paddy field planting and picking rice. Something about this situation that unveiled itself to me made me stay in Hampi for another month photographing these women working in the fields.
